2012 MMOR RACE RULES
General Race Rules
General Rules Apply to Both Mud Bog and Fast Track Races
• All vehicles must be 4-wheel drive.
• All drivers must possess a valid driver's license. Drivers under the age of 18 must have written on-site permission from parent or legal guardian.
• All drivers must sign a waiver.
• All drivers must wear a helmet and seatbelt. All drivers in Super Stock, Pro Stock, Open Super Modified, and Women's Super Open Modified classes must wear a SFI approved fire suit. In the case of a vehicle stepping up from a lower class to race, the driver is exempt from the fire suit.
• All vehicles must pass an onsite inspection and safety inspection at their first race of the season prior to registration. If at any time after the initial inspection, a vehicle is found to be illegal for any class, for which it is entered, that vehicle will be disqualified for the remainder of the event with no refund. If a vehicle is found to be illegal a second time it will be disqualified for the remainder of the season. Super Stock vehicles and above classes will be given permanent numbers. All vehicles will be teched at their first race of the year. The tech committee has the right to tech any vehicle at any time. Refusal to be teched is automatic disqualification of that vehicle for the class in question and the remainder of the event and the vehicle must be teched before it will be allowed to run at another event. • All vehicles must be equipped with a roll bar or hardtop (steel in Super Stock and up).
• No tire chains or track vehicles.
• Vehicles equipped with superchargers and/or nitrous oxide must have scatter blankets or shields around the gearbox. Blowers must have limiting straps.
• General registration and tech will begin three hours before race time and end one hour before scheduled race starting time. Late entries start one hour before scheduled starting time. Registration and Tech will close 30 minutes before scheduled race starting time.
• Entry fee will be $25 per class.
• Vehicles may run only once per class. Each competition vehicle may enter a maximum of 3 classes, provided class and general rules are followed. Exception: if the vehicle races in 2 male classes and 1 female class, it may be entered in an additional female class, provided it fits the class rules.
• Late entries will pay an additional $5 per class. Late entries will run first in the Stock, Hot- Street, Women's Hot Street, Super Stock, and the 4&6 Cylinder classes. Late entries will run last in the Pro Stock, Open Super Modified and Women's Open Super Modified classes.
• No refunds will be given after a class starts.
• Disqualification line is a minimum of 150 feet beyond the finish line.
• All vehicles making a full pass must come to a complete stop in the shut down area and may not move either forward or backward until clearly signaled to do so by the red flagman. Leaving the shut down area or backing away from the disqualification line without being cleared by the red flagman will result in disqualification.
• Payback will be 100% of entry fees. (1st = 40%, 2nd = 30%, 3rd = 20%, 4th = 10%). In the event that fewer than 4 legal runs are made all remaining prize money will go to the first place driver. It is the driver's responsibility to claim all prize money. MMOR will not give prize money to anyone but the driver in which the check is made payable. There must be at least 3 drivers in a class to receive added money.
• In the event of a tie, the drivers will split the monies for that place and the next lower place. All entrants below that place will be moved one place farther down in the standings. If trophies are awarded, the tying drivers will have a coin toss to decide which driver will be awarded the larger trophy.
• All prize money should be collected no later than 30 minutes after the end of the last class. If money is not picked up, it will be forfeited back to MMOR. MMOR will not mail out winnings.
• Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders will officiate and may refuse any driver that appears intoxicated and/or any vehicle that is modified or operated in an unsafe manner.
• Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders will provide a wristband for each driver to be placed on the left arm. Wristband must be shown at the time of entering the pit and at anytime if requested. If caught or suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the wristband will be removed and entry fee will not be refunded. This will also prevent you from racing. If wristband has been altered in any way, you will not be allowed to race or receive a refund. Only drivers can withdraw from a class to make sure the wristband has been removed.
• The only person allowed to run in a class is the person registered on the registration sheet. If your wristband is taken, the vehicle will not be allowed to run in the class.
• The red flagman will be the head official at trackside and will make all decisions on trackside controversies. Only past or present officers or board members are to be red flagman.
• Vehicle has 2 minutes to stage after pit has been cleared.
• If the first vehicle in a class is instructed by race officials to take the cable, all trucks in that class must take the cable.
• Vehicles that exit the side of the pit will be measured from the point of exit, not disqualified. Vehicles that get stuck in the pit will be measured at the farthest hub.
• Skimmers/rails will run first in Open Super Modified and Women's Super Modified for the safety of the drivers.
• Time starts with first movement of race vehicle. Time will stop when front of vehicle crosses finish line or with the waiving of the red flag. Electronic timers will be used. In the case of “no time” the vehicle receiving “no time” will be given 5 minutes to stage, from the time of notification, for a rerun. The rerun will occur before the vehicle in line is staged. If a recorded time is by stopwatch the vehicle will be given the option to rerun, next in line, with a 5 minute stage time.
• No alcoholic beverages will be allowed at trackside.
• Any protest of a vehicle must be made before the class starts. The protest committee will consist of Head of Tech and the Executive Committee. A fee of $25 will be assessed for all protests. In the event that the protested vehicle is found to be legal, the $25 will be donated to a charity of the clubs choice. If the vehicle is found to be illegal, the $25 will be refunded to the individual who presents the protest. Protests must come from drivers within that class only.
• The Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders will enforce a "no tolerance” rule pertaining to disputes with race officials. If an official is put into an argumentative situation, the person arguing with the officials will be asked to leave the premises immediately. No threats will be tolerated. Decisions of MMOR officials are final.
• A solid hitch with a clevis or welded loop must be on rear of vehicle for pull back. No cables or chains will be allowed.
• The 4 classes to run on the fast track will be determined by the board of directors.
• Suggest that barriers or guardrails should be installed the length of the pit.
• No spectators past the end of the pit. No racer parking past the end of the pit unless 50’ away from the pit.
