I wanted a plasma for a while but could not justify spending $2000-$3000 for a name brand that would cut 1/2 or better. So after much deliberation I decided to by a chinese plasma. I went with an everlast power plasma 50 on sale for $559 that has an advertised 5 year warranty. I had to call 3 times to get a live person to answer and place the order. This was a little discouraging. 5 days later the plasma shows up. I open the box and found the front cover to be broken. I called the tech assist and left a message. About 1 hour later he called me back and told me to use it for a week to see if anything else was damaged. I used it an found the switch for the post cut flow to be in upside down. After a little of use the post flow would stick on and at times it would not strike the arc. I called the tech line again left a message and 30 min. later I got called back. He gave me some things to check with the cover off. I removed the cover and found the main electronics tray to be bent. I called them back and they sent a call tag to send it back. I waited 5 days for it to make it back to them. Today I called them 3rd time I finally talked to someone to see when my new power plasma 50 would be coming. They told me that they were out of the power plasma 50 and it would be 3 weeks before they would get anymore. They told me they would ship me a super cut 50 until my power plasma 50 would come in. The super cut is an older less heavy duty design but at least I will have something to use. So at this point I am slightly disappointed but I have to admit they are working with me to keep me happy. I will try to keep this updated as it further unfolds and give my opinion of a working machine. _________________ We have the "fun kind"

The super cut 50 plasma showed up today. I unboxed it made all the connections and tried it out. It works as it should. This plasma cutter is about 2/3 the size and weight of the power plasma 50 that I ordered. From the limited use I had the super cut 50 seems to need a higher amperage setting to cut the same material as the power plasma 50. Well at least I have a plasma to use until they get my model back in stock. _________________ We have the "fun kind"

I just called to see when to expect my power plasma 50. They told me they are supposed to be leaving the factory in 10 days so it will be another 3 weeks before I get my correct plasma. O n the positive side the super cut 50 they sent me works great, I even cut some 1/2 with it and it did a good job with good cut speed. _________________ We have the "fun kind"

Its amazing to hear that the "off brand" company is working to make things right. I'm glad the temporary replacement is working well. _________________ Its all fun and games until some body gets knocked down, out, or up. |

Well I received my power plasma 50 today. I have not even shipped the super cut 50 back yet. The new plasma is much more robust looking and came in with only a couple of screws loose no other damage. It will be Saturday before I get to try it out. It took alot longer to get than expected but I did get it. _________________ We have the "fun kind"
